Steak

My wife and I went out to dinner last night. Our meal was OK, but my steak was not prepared properly. This happens to me all the time. I like my steak medium ... not rare ... not well-done ... MEDIUM! Is it so hard to get this right? More than half the time, I get a steak which is either blood red or cooked to a crisp. ARGH!!

OK, I feel better now. Just needed to vent.

Out the name of the place! We must know, so we do not make the mistake of going to a place that
is carbonizes its' steak!

I like my steak cooked medium as well. About 1 out of 10 times I order steak, the temperature seems to be wrong. Outback steakhouse seems to be the chronic chain offender for me (I still love the place).

Some major chains which I've never had a problem with the temp are Roadhouse Grill, Sam Seltzer's & Longhorn Steakhouse.

And of course the premium steak chains such as Smith & Wollensky's, Ruth Chris & Mortons seem to always seem serve steak nirvana, for a considerable price.

It happens to me all the time, both under- and over-cooked. The particular place that prompted me to write this was TGI Fridays.

You are lucky. It happens to me 3-4 times out of 10. Like you, I have had problems at Outback. I don't believe I have had a problem at Roadhouse Grill or Longhorn Steakhouse. Nor have I had a problem at RC or Mortons, but I haven't gone to either of those since the last time it was on somebody else's dime.

NY Prime (which recently opened in Buckhead) also makes a good steak.

Never been to either Smith & Wollensky's or Sam Seltzer's. In fact I've never HEARD of Sam Seltzer's.
